2016 Mater Education Practice Improvement Centre (MEPIC) - Opening Mater Private Hospital Springfield: Keeping Patients Safe
Mater Education Practice Improvement Centre (MEPIC) coordinated the delivery of 24 hours of concurrent simulations across perioperative, ward and cancer care services. Process deficits or inefficiencies are often detected during initial patient contacts, with simulation process testing offering a safe alternative. MEPIC provided simulation services to ensure patient care spaces were functional for workflow requirements and for patient and families’ satisfaction and experience, saving the organisation potentially millions dollars. 2015 National Health Education and Training in Simulation - NHETSim Programme
The innovative NHETSim programme is the result of a Commonwealth funded national collaborative project initiated in 2010/11. Designed to provide professional development for individuals who intend or already use simulation as an educational method in the health and social care sector, more than 4,000 individuals have completed NHET-Sim. Evaluations demonstrate the profound impact of the programme on health and social care simulation practices and on patients’ experiences. www.nhet-sim.edu.au/
