Curtin University’s mission is to change minds, lives and world through leadership, innovation and excellence in teaching and research. Simulated-based education contributes to this by providing richly interactive and personalised learning experiences that aim to equip graduates with the skills they need to make tomorrow better.
The Faculty of Health Sciences offers education to many future health professionals and this provides an excellent opportunity for interprofessional, simulation-based learning experiences. Guided, authentic simulated experiences enable students to master clinical competencies, within a context of enhancing communication, team work, safety, critical thinking, empathy and confidence. This is facilitated by use of simulated learning suites, 3D technology, avatars, actors, simulated patients, manikins and part-task trainers.
