The Marine Engineering Synthetic Training Environment (MESTE) is a purpose built facility located at the Devonport Naval Base, Auckland, New Zealand. The facility is used to train naval personnel in the configuration and operation of fluid, electrical, data, power generating, propulsion and hotel services equipment and systems.
Using High fidelity simulators, bespoke software models and a culturally coded training pedagogy, staff at the MESTE facilitate the transition from formal theoretical and generic training modules to ‘on the job’ via our synthetic training environment. Technical and non technical skills development is undertaken for any personnel who interact with the platform system as part of their role or responsibility. Our learning framework aims to enable the preparation of work ready naval personnel.
