Foundations in Simulation Workshop - New Zealand

Foundations in Simulation Workshop - New Zealand

Session Overview
The Foundations in Simulation workshop allows participants to explore and discuss the underpinning knowledge, skills and attitudes that can enable them to make informed decisions during the acquisition, development, implementation and operation of simulation systems and activities in Australasia.

The workshop focuses on introducing modelling and simulation terms, concepts, purposes, applications and information resources to participants across industries through concepts, activities and discussion groups. It introduces core terms and explores how they apply equally in a variety of different disciplinary settings.

Learning Outcomes
As a result of attending this workshop, it is expected that participants will be informed about and will be able to discuss:

The context of simulation and modelling in Australasia, across a diverse range of contexts including health, aviation, defence, transport, resources and education
Current – and possible future – applications of simulation concepts including decision support, strategic, computer supported and face to face role play based modes
Common applications of simulation and modelling in Australasia
Utilisation of resources/links available to simulation professionals in Australasia
